Digital Future team attended Web Summit, one of the biggest international tech conference in Europe. This year the event relocated to Lisbon after Dublin, where the conference took place five years in a row. This year 53,056 tech CEOs, founders, startups, investors and political leaders driving change across the world came together in Lisbon for Web Summit. Over 2,000 of the world’s leading media attended. Together they discussed the answers to the questions posed by the tech progress we’re living through.
According to the Web Summit official webpage, this year the conference hosted 21 independent events under one roof gathering people from 166 countries. Lisbon offered the Web Summit not just a new venue but also better infrastructure and enhanced security. Oleksii Vitchenko, Founding Partner of Digital Future, assumes that one of the possible reasons for this situation is that the government’s main objective in Portugal is to create an investment-friendly eco-system.
“A lot of well-known investors from Index, Accel, Microsoft, Salesforce Ventures were spotted at Web Summit. All of them were highly open and receptive to a networking with a range of startups.” – Oleksii Vitchenko said. “I am glad for our portfolio companies being in a game and having the opportunity to feature their valuable products because the real power of the event is the opportunity to expose your concept to a large number of people, getting feedback, exploring partnership opportunities, get funding, maybe even close several deals. Web Summit is the perfect opportunity to make contacts in a positive and memorable atmosphere. And we also got some important business stuff done this year.“
